New Year - New You

As we bid farewell to 2025 and welcome in 2026, it's time for new beginnings, new goals, and a fresh start. It's that time of year when we all make resolutions and set intentions for the year ahead. And while it may sound like a cliché, I find myself buying into it every year.

I set myself a few goals each year - eat less, drink less, exercise more, read more, work harder and smarter, and spend more time with family and friends. My go-to goals are always to exercise more and work smarter. For me, these two go hand in hand. I may not be hitting up the gym every day or doing intense workouts, but I do love to walk. Walking has been my go-to exercise for years. Rain or shine, I make it a point to get outside and get moving. Not only does it keep me physically fit, but it also helps me stay mentally sharp. As someone who has been working in early childhood education for 35 years, I know the importance of staying physically and mentally fit. Walking allows me to clear my mind, recharge, and appreciate the world around me.

As I reflect on how I've changed over the years, both physically and mentally, I am reminded of why I chose to be a teacher. The wonder of teaching, the privilege of shaping young minds, and the camaraderie with fellow educators - these are the things that keep me going. And as I set my goals for the year ahead, I am focused on continuing to support teachers in their journey. Through Proven Practice Consulting, I aim to help educators build strong systems, curriculum, and practices that allow them to focus on what truly matters - teaching.

If you're looking for someone to walk beside you on your teaching journey, I invite you to check out my website www.ppconsulting.nz, follow me on Instagram @ppconsultnz, or connect with me on Facebook at Proven Practice Consulting. Here's to a new year, new goals, and a renewed passion for teaching. Let's make 2026 our best year yet! See you there!
